Let's meet in Stockholm part 2

The one thing I find so difficult in Stockholm is not being able to capture the beauty in pictures. The whole city is so picturesque but I feel like all of our pictures turned out so ordinary! Ray says we need a different camera lense.  Oh well , I guess we just have to go back and visit again!

Here we are at the Nobel museum. All the kids won Nobel prizes (chocolate wrapped in gold colored foil).

Gamla Stan (Old City)

Changing of the guard at the Royal Palace.
More picturesque Stockholm as viewed from our boat ride to Drottningholm palace!

The boys with the little guys in front (Daddy baby bump) of the Oriental Palace on the grounds of Drottningholm palace.

This is Drottningholm Palace, the royal family's summer palace. Tiny isn't it. How can one family live is such a small place?

The weather for the boat ride to the castle was amazing and the sky and water were so blue!

Lucas loved it! He kept saying "wawa" and "boat" and "uh oh." He dropped a water bottle when we first got on the boat and he could see it but none of us could reach it!

City Hall.

What is this picture doing here? Another one of the Oriental Palace.

The kids are mesmerized by the iphone!!

The last day we discovered that our apartment was a ten minute walk from the beach- crazy! Well better late than never!

After we went to the beach we took the Listons to the train station to say "hej da" Thank you so much for coming to visit.  It was great to see you and make some wonderful memories!!

Let's meet in Stockholm

Our great, great friends Sean, Tracy, Aidan, and Owen Liston wanted to come and visit our little family in Sweden. They had already planned to visit relatives in Ireland and wanted to make a pit stop in Sweden to say hi! Since we had not been to Stockholm yet and since they could catch a cheap and quick flight to Stockholm flying RyanAir we decided to meet in Stockholm.  What a great idea! Stockholm is such a beautiful city, so far my favorite European city.

It is just 4 1/2 hours by train so here we are heading to Stockholm.

After meeting up with the Listons at the train station we traveled to our apartment for the week.  Bonus, a really huge awesome playground between the Tunnelbana and our apartment!

Here everyone is in the kitchen working hard to make dinner!

Annalise said that storytime with Aidan and Owen is more fun!

The next day Tracy and Sean's good friend Camilla joined us with her two kids, Sienna and Lukas.  For those of you who like math that is five adults +  6 kids + the largest city in Sweden= crazy fun!

We went Junnibacken which we all called the Pippi Longstocking museum.  It was awesome but something happened to my pictures and this is the only one I have.

That day we also went to the Vasa Musuem and it was really cool.  Definitely a must see if you go to Stockholm but again I am having technical difficulties.  Ray may do a dedicated Vasa Museum post if we can recover the pictures because he loved that place!

The next day we went to Skansen, a huge outdoor museum and animal park. It was really fun!

Lucas liked the fish.

There was an enclosure for these ring tail lemurs and you could walk among them but you were not allowed to touch them.
They looked so soft and cuddly that Lucas was desperate to touch them!

Annalise and Sienna on the Tunnelbana!

Look at my big boy with his daddy!

Two little girls loving their ice cream and a baby moose!

Annalise teaching Lucas about the lizards.
The next day it was just the Runyons and Listons and we did SkyView. Here we are posing in the circle globe thing.
This is a picture of what we are inside of.
 Here is the good view!

Annalise and Aidan loved this!
Here is what it looks like on the outside.  Do you see the small circle at the top, that is what we rode inside.

That night Tracy and I went out for (very expensive) drinks!  This is Stockholm after all.  Oh well we deserved it after all the craziness in the city!
