Happy Trettondedag Jul Day!!

January 6th is a holiday in Sweden.  It is the 13th day after Christmas and it is the day the wise men arrived to meet Jesus.  Yea, another holiday!!!  We started off the day making some art at home.  Annalise has been loving her art easel lately!

Here is Annalise with her "Aislyn picture"

It was so sunny and looked beautiful when we looked out the window which was nice after a week of gray skies.  But is was freezing, I mean cold!!! We went to the park right by our house for some swinging, sliding, and tag.  Tag is Annalise's new favorite game these days!  It was good to run around to keep warm!

Lucas liked his first slide down by himself.  He is an adventurous little guy!  He always makes me giggle in that snowsuit!

Then we decided to go to the Museum of Sketches.  When we told Annalise we are going to an Art museum she immediately said, "The Denver Art Museum.  I love it there. We can see the foxes!"  I miss the DAM too and all of our playdate friends in Denver.  Sending hugs your way!
This is Ray and Annalise in front of the museum.  Do you see the sign? New York is 3878 miles away.  I had been wondering lately exactly how far away we are from home.

This museum is awesome!! It is totally dedicated to the process of art. There are sketches and plans displayed for larger pieces of art and then either the actual art (rarely) or information about the actual art and where it is displayed.  I especially liked seeing the sketches and plans for sculptures and then seeing pictures of the actual sculptures.

Here is Annalise sketching with her friends Sadie and Ellie.  Thanks Hannah for bringing an extra pad of paper for Annalise.   Tack sa mycket!

More drawing...

Here's Ray, Lucas, Hannah, and Wes enjoying the art.

Annalise liked this pig sculpture and asked me to take a picture of it.
It was a great day and I love sharing it with you!

I am trying this new way to blog with pictures embedded in the text instead of a slideshow at the end.  Which do you like better?

Sending love and hugs!

  1. I love all of the pics. Especially all of the pics with the little kiddos drawing, they looked to intent with what they were doing. Very cute! Love you and miss you!
